Bamboo floors are strong, durable, and naturally resistant to insects and moisture. In fact, the hardness of traditional bamboo flooring ranges from 1,180 (carbonized bamboo) to around 1,380 (natural bamboo) on the Janka scale. Bamboo can be installed as a “floating floor” over an underlay, or fixed down to the subfloor with nails or glue. It can also be used with underfloor heating.

Bamboo is actually a type of grass, which is the secret behind its environmentally friendly nature. Not only does bamboo reach maturity in a quarter of the time of trees, even after being harvested it will continue to grow. It can be reharvested a few years later.
