The first step to choosing the right tile for your project is to consider how it will be used. Bathroom and counter tiles must be water-resistant and floor tiles need to be durable and slip-resistant.

Another consideration is whether you want glazed or unglazed porcelain tile. Glazed tiles undergo a second firing process where they’re coated in a protective liquid glass. The glass layer makes it more water and stain-resistant, but tends to be more slippery.

Glazed tiles come in a wide variety of designs and colours. Unglazed tiles have a more natural, matte look.
