Luxury vinyl planks hit the sweet spot between beauty, durability and price. The technology has really come a long way in the past decade or two, and if you’re only familiar with standard vinyl flooring options from the past, you’ll be impressed with what’s on the market today.
LVP offers an incredible variety of colours and textures to choose from — many of which are amazingly realistic. Most options come with slight variations in the planks, so your floor has the natural-looking diversity of real hardwood.
Luxury vinyl planks are less expensive than hardwood floors. They’re also easier, and therefore less expensive, to install.
LVP is suitable for high-traffic areas, kitchens, and basements. Just be sure to avoid abrasive scrubs, detergents and solvents when cleaning.
High-quality luxury vinyl flooring can last 10–25 years when you follow the manufacturer’s care instructions.
Sweep or vacuum regularly, and use a damp mop occasionally. Most LVP flooring is highly stain resistant.
Luxury vinyl flooring is more comfortable than hardwood underfoot. Some varieties are thicker, or have underlays that provide even more cushioning. LVP tends to dampen sounds as well.
